Engineering and Technological Innovation
We needed to be able to mine accurately and precisely - we adopted a sophisticated navigation and guidance system. We needed a solution for steeply dipping seems - we developed a method to brace the launch vehicle against the highwall to enable miner recovery. We needed to be able to operate on narrow benches, we created a narrow-bench Launch Vehicle. We needed to boost production while cutting, we engineered the ADDCAR system to enable continuous conveying while changing cars. We are innovators.
We develop innovative, sustainable solutions to answer our client's most complicated challenges.
Our Innovations
ADDCAR highwall systems utilizes three pairs of ring laser gyroscopes and accelerometers to monitor the heading, pitch, and roll of the continuous miner. Graphic displays within the operator’s compartment give the operator a complete picture of active entry, past entries, and rib thickness. In addition, gamma sensors are used to detect the seam-rock interface, allowing the operator to accurately and precisely adjust cut height and minimize out-of-seam dilution.
Patented Navigation and Guidance
01
The ADDCAR HWM System was designed with a continuous miner. However, this can only be the case if the conveyance system is continuous as well. To meet this need, the Launch Vehicle is fitted with a "belly belt" that enables continuous haulage while ADDCARs are added. Additionally, each ADDCAR has a dedicated 40Hp motor to drive each belt. As the continuous miner advances, there is no loss in conveying power enabling continuous production at maximum production rates regardless of mining depth.
Continuous Haulage
02
In order to meet the challenge of steep dips, the ADDCAR HWM System was fitted with extendable "feet" that could brace against the highwall. This provides the necessary resistance to recovery the ADDCAR system with mining grades of up to 1 in 20.
Steep Dips
03
The ADDCAR HWM System has been designed to operate in geological complex areas and in "hard-rock" applications. A roadheader was designed for the front-end of the ADDCAR System to enable cutting through high-strength rock.
Hard Rock
04
Many situations where the ADDCAR HWM Systems is employed have limited space available. ADDCAR designed the "Narrow Bench" Launch Vehicle for situations where the bench or "pit room" is less than 50 meters.

This is the space to describe the service and explain how customers or clients can benefit from it. It’s an opportunity to add a short description that includes relevant details, like pricing, duration, location and how to book the service.
Global Connectivity and Support
06
Integrated jacks are used to lift the Launch Vehicle up and across to the next highwall mining hole location. The Launch Vehicle has been designed to be portable via a flatbed trailer for movement between pits.
