Narrow Bench Project

The Narrow Bench Launch Vehicle was originally designed for un reclaimed highwalls in Appalachia. With no requirement to reclaim highwalls prior to 1977, many mountain sides were left with narrow bench mining faces. ADDCAR radically reduced the length of the launch vehicle from 27m to 14m to enable highwall mining on these benches which in turn could help cover reclamation costs for these areas. The Narrow Bench model is ideal for situations with limited pit room and Trench Mining opportunities.
